Aquo Chloriridites

The chloriridites are decomposed by treatment with water, yielding aquo derivatives of general formula M2IrCl5.H2O. Thus:

M3IrCl6 + H2O = M2IrCl5.H2O + MCl.

Several of these aquo salts have been isolated.
