Iridium Oxybromide, (IrBr4)2IrO2

Iridium Oxybromide, (IrBr4)2IrO2, has been obtained by heating iridium dioxide to 300° C. in a closed vessel with bromine. It yields black needles, soluble in water, for which the formula (IrBr4)2IrO2 has been suggested.
