Iridium Tetra-iodide, IrI4

Iridium Tetra-iodide, IrI4, results when a solution of ammonium chloriridate or of iridium chloride in hydrochloric acid is boiled with potassium iodide. It is precipitated as a black, insoluble powder, which decomposes at 100° C.
