Thallium Chloriridate, Tl2IrCl6, may be prepared in a similar manner to the foregoing salt. It yields small opaque bluish green cubes. When boiled with concentrated hydrochloric acid it is converted into chloriridite, Tl3IrCl6, which crystallises out in lamellae which are bronze tinted. These are oxidised by nitric acid to the chloriridate again. |
